Division 1

Meanwhile in Division 1 ...

Heroes vs Co-mingled – The Gap 2
Co-Mingled will be on a high after knocking off UQ at St Lucia last week. But its about time the Heroes did something and we reckon this week is it.
Our tip: Heroes by 2

Dyspnoeics vs Bermuda Triangle – Griffith 1
Both these teams adore going out to Griffith to play some Frisbee. Bermuda are seem to been getting somewhere on offence is the increasing number of points on the board each game means anything, but the Blue Ds view themselves as assassins and won’t take anything from anyone.
Our tip: Dyspnoeics by 5

Wuxi Finger Hold vs Ghost Who Walks – UQ 7B
Wuxi beat GWW 17-6 earlier in the season, but the purple-suited-mothers have strengthened as the temperatures have risen. Wuxi have been a bit vulnerable lately, but they seem to play better on campus.
Our tip: Wuxi by 3

Poachers vs UQ Ultimate Lovers – UQ 7A
Speaking of vulnerability and campus, the UQ Ultimate Lovers had their bedroom breached last week by a Co-Mingled raid. Can they regroup? The Poachers meanwhile will be looking for a third win on the trot, and of course, Revenge with a capital R after their 1 point loss against the students way back in Round 1.
Our tip: UQ by 4

So I went to the supermarket the other day searching for a delicious treat.
‘What is on the menu today?’ I thought to myself as I perused the treats on display.
‘What is on the menu today?’ I loudly bellowed, echoing my thoughts. Several people looked at me like a freak, which was understandable as I was wearing a duck’s bill on my fanny.
My eyes scanned the lolly section.
Snakes. Ah yes, my favourite.
No wait, I thought, they’re poisonous and often rattle when disturbed.
Strawberries and cream. Too British.
Starburst. Too annoying. All those tight little packages you have to work to unwrap the sweet delicious treat inside.
After exhausting the selection of lollies and having dismissed all varieties I rolled over to the chocolate section.
I should have mentioned I am in rollerblades. I stole them off a coconut tree earlier in the week. He didn’t put up much of a fight which was the best part of my year so far.
Chocolates, mmm yes, Willy Wonka’s crack. He had a sweet deal with all those orange midget sex slaves.
Smarties. Plain, small, annoying – they’re the Rove of the chocolate world.
M&Ms. The same as Smarties. Chocolate in a hard candy shell. I struggled to think of a similar idiot to Rove I could make a similar comparison to, however I am not lame enough. I did another figure 8 in my sweet blades and went back to the chocolates.
Mars Bar. It’s a Snickers without the allergic reaction. It also rhymes – I felt smart making this observation and took a mental note to congratulate myself later on when I was alone with the internet.
Twix, Time Out, Violet Crumble, Crunchie, Mint Pattie – all chocolates you would eat if handed to you by a stranger in the street but would never buy given a selection. They’re the TV program you would watch for a few minutes while channel surfing but would never go out of your way to record on that VCR you used to own in the nineties and early 2000s and threw out as soon as DVD players came down to a respectable price and you realised that taping shows was no longer necessary because the internet existed.
Then I saw it. The answer. My heart immediately increased to a tachycardic state, my jowls quivering in glee.
‘YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS’ I screamed at the goat herders standing next to me ‘Nothing will satisfy me like this’.
I quickly rollerbladed forward, slavering at the thought of the delicious treat that was to be mine. My hands stretched out, grasping at the packet with the same hunger a middle aged woman grasps at her decaying youth.
I picked up the packet and reverently read out the name…
