BPL Week 7

Field 1: Slamtown vs Blitz

This game should be tight. The slammers are a bit transient with a large roster of talented players who show up every 2nd week. If slammers have one weakness it is in the receiving stocks. Without Gref slammers can struggle against some of the taller teams when it comes to pulling down their long bombs.

Blitz cannot be taken lightly.  Chris "Ow it hurts" Cunliffe is in the running battle with Carl, Jmac and myself for most injury prone firestorm player. That said he has found some talented players and taught them to play some good ultimate. Major weakness is in the handling line with goose and Timocles doing their best, however sometimes a dump to cunliffe straight away could be a primary look. Atlas continues to improve with each week and his going knowledge as a receiver, however he still struggles to inject himself in tight points.
Jangles Prediction: Draw

Field 2: Heroes vs Dojo
Hmm I picked the potential blow out last week with heroes giving too much disc away. I did however see Billy dropping bombs to good options and Silent layout for some sick D. Heroes have shown that they can compete in this league and that they are probably the fittest team in the comp. Now they need to figure out how to beat the least fit but smartest team in the comp.

I don't know whether new dad coops will be there, however we can expect Dojo to bring the customary Zone D. Trouble is that I don't know that it will work against the fast and fit line of Heroes. Having Pete deep means that you can basically bank on not many long shots so they will have to get past the tall fence. I would like to see Dojo experiment with man, but I can tell you they won't.

Field 3: UQ Lovers vs Bugs
Bugs are hitting their stride finally and this game is a must win for the season to stay alive. Being 1 - 4 is not a position Bugs are used too so now they are looking to finish the first half of the season with a win. Buzz has taken control of the handling line and is showing why he is one of the most dangerous throwers in the game. The final score will really come down to whether Bugs can stop being their own worst nightmare and start connecting as a team.

UQ struggled last weak against a strong Dojo Zone and I suspect missing some players at Uni Games. Bugs may provide a slightly easy proposition for the youngsters from those sandstone buildings. Probably going to be more zone offense training for the boys in blue. However they may find scoring easier against the old Bugs line so will have a chance to play some zone of their own if they want.
