All Aboard the BUDA Train!

So a General Meeting of the Brisbane Ultimate Disc Association was held on the weekend, and a fresh management committee was elected! Congratulations to:

President Mat Ryan
Vice-President Megan Barnes
Treasurer(s) Adilia Murabito and Nathan Litzow
Secretary Leon 'Fatty' McIntyre

Several other folks put their hands up to help out with BUDA, showing the enthusiasm people have for the association. Yay volunteers!

There will no doubt be a few months of getting some feet under desks, but these are the people to start talking to about your ideas for the long-term future of Ultimate in Brisbane.

Here's what I want:
- decent website with clear basic info and regularly updated league info
- weekend league/competition
- ambitious growth plan - eg WUFL to double in size each year, new mixed league somewhere else each year
- regular monthly social event - make them routine and attractive

Here's what I want:
- anonymous comments disabled from this blog to make people stand up to what they say

Its a list of what I want, not what I'm willing to do anything about!

But if BUDA has money sitting there an no real plan for it, these are some ideas.

Really Wetnose? That comment wasn't particularly inflammatory.

If we're gonna talk about a wishlist, i'd love to see progress continue regarding proper start times for games (BUML) and penalties for teams that rock up late continuously.

I have to second wetnose.. Not particularly inflammatory comments no - nor was that said or insinuated by wetty.

If you've got something to say to a group forum like this then allowing people to see who it is that's commenting has many positives. It add's weight to any suggestion's you may have as well making author's think a little about whether they'd like the comments they make attributed to them. If you've got something to say that you'd rather people didn't know came from you perhaps you'd be better of saying nothing.

Yep, all great ideas and all but the problem with BUDA has always been generating volunteers to turn ideas into fruition. If it wasn't for Adilia (and a couple of others) BUDA would have gone under.

-I would like to see a northside league and I am willing to help
-forming of at least 1 formal elite Mixed club. (Other than heroes which has superior numbers to pretty much every other club)
